Any consumer approved for this supplement before 31 October 2025 will retain the extra 11.5% funding, which will automatically transfer into their Support at Home quarterly budget. This means:

No Dementia Diagnosis Required
Eligibility is not limited to people with a formal dementia diagnosis. The Psychogeriatric Assessment Scale (PAS) captures a broad range of cognitive decline and behavioural changes — meaning many more clients may qualify.
What Is the Dementia and Cognition Supplement?
The supplement is an additional pool of funding added on top of a client’s Home Care Package. It is designed to support people living with:
Moderate to advanced cognitive impairment
Dementia or other conditions that affect memory, behaviour, or brain function
Eligibility is based on cognitive impairment, not just a dementia diagnosis. This can include conditions such as stroke, acquired brain injury, or other neurological issues.

Conduct the PAS screening with the older person or their carer
Complete and sign the application
Forward results to the client and provider for submission to Services Australia
Fee: $297.00
(This can be paid from your Home Care Package as an eligible care expense for both self-managed and fully-managed clients.)
For those from CALD communities or who identify as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, we can also provide RUDAS and KICA assessments.
